Conductors Podium: podium top is 3’ x 3’ and is 1’ high (0.9m x 0.9m x 0.3m). There are 9.25” wide

Orchestra shell: The Ford Theatre is equipped with a Wenger orchestra shell consisting of seven towers and

three flown acoustical panels. The shell encompasses a trapezoid 50’ wide (15.24m) at the downstage

end (proscenium width) and tapering to 36’ wide (10.97m) at its back wall, 25’ (7.62m) upstage of the

proscenium arch. The overall height of the shell is 24’6” (7.46m). Three general purpose battens are

used for the flown panel. Unavoidably, many of the battens are obscured or hindered when the shell is

in place. Adequate lighting positions are available.

Platforms: (20) 4’x 8’ platforms (1.21m x 2.44m) available with legs at 8” (0.20m) intervals starting at 8”

(0.20m) and terminating at a maximum platform height of 48” (1.21m). Legs are stocked in sufficient

numbers to provide support for (8) 8”, (8) 16”, (14) 24”, (8) 32”, (5) 40”, (3) 48”.

Choral Risers: (6) Wenger 6’ tourmaster 3-step risers. (Capacity 12-16 per riser)

Dance Floor: Black Marley (approx. 57’ W x 31’ D”)

Lecterns: (3) Golden oak full standing lecterns available as well as (2) table mounted versions.

Tables: Various table sizes are available

Wardrobe

Dressing rooms: (2) Star dressing rooms off stage left on stage level

(2) Large chorus rooms off stage left down 1 level from stage

(3) Cast dressing rooms off stage left down 1 level from stage

Note: All dressing rooms contain mirrors, make-up lights, sinks, showers and toilets.

Wardrobe area: None specifically delineated- understage area or dressing rooms used

Irons/Ironing boards: (2) Boards and consumer irons available

Steamers: (2) Jiffy J2-2M Steamers

Washer/Dryer: (1) Set available for production use (These are also used by cleaning staff at night)

Racks/Hangers: (2) 6’ rolling racks

Note: Dressing rooms contain limited costume storage

Quick Change Areas: The theatre has side stage rooms located down stage right and left outside of the

proscenium arch. Semi-permanent work light has been installed. Portable privacy panels are also

available
